We’re back with our newsletter: “The Outpost #84”, your weekly shot of Elite: Dangerous!
Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter @RemlokEN, and join us on Discord so you can discuss with Elite players like you 🙂
I’m working on the Complete Fighter Guide, the Complete Liner Guide, and various Engineers ones like the Components locations, the Experimental effects, Gathering materials on the surface and so on. I can’t wait to publish them!
Now that the beta 2.4 is over since Monday, September 4, the Elite: Dangerous community is waiting for the next big chapter. We are all holding our breath for the Return of the Thargoids. This last update Season 2 will gather everything we’ve known since the release, the mysteries will be unveiled!
A final reminder for latecomers, before the full Release Notes 2.4 next week (I hope so):
Frontier Developments are preparing a livestream this Thursday 14 September, at 7pm BST. The content will be based around the Elite: Dangerous Lore so everyone can start fresh with the basics in order to understand the Update 2.4. The developers (including Sandro Sammarco) will also share some information about The Return and a launch date. I would have hoped for a launch right after their live like they have already done, but we will see what they have to offer.
I regularly keep you informed about the the London Stock Exchange – Frontier Developments. The company being public, we can access the results highlighting information about the economic health of the company, but also their future developments and plans.
Planet Coaster offerts even more content, 1 million copies have been sold;
Elite: Dangerous always performs well on all available platforms. More than 2.75 million copies sold as we approach the September release of The Return, the final season 2 Horizons update with the addition of the first alien race: the Thargoids. Other species will follow in the future according to this quote of the “first alien species”;
Jurassik World Evolution is on track for a summer release in 2018. It should be released simultaneously on PC, XBox One and PlayStation 4. We will have to build and manage the best dinosaurs park on the Muerte Archipelago and the Nublar Islands, bioengineer dinosaur species and develop new ways to manage our attractions while “life finds its way”. The game will be available around the release of the movie Jurassik World: Fallen Kingdom;
550% increase in profit compared to last year, with an income of £37.4m for £7.8m in profit. It is here that we see the meaning of £29.6M in expenditure – It means a lot for 2018 as they implement new things, build new buildings and hire even more employees;
Net Balance as of August 31, 2017 of £27.5 million (£12.6 million previously), thanks to Tencent’s investment in Frontier Developments, at a price of £17.7 million;
Frontier promises a colourful 2018 while they continue to lead their ultimate goal in order to become one of the best multi-franchise video game companies. Apparently two other Frontier games are in development but will not be announced for a long time.
I have again taken the statistics over 5 years because I find that it is more representative of the incredible market growth (shares) from Frontier Developments PLC.
Powerplay is an ongoing battle for interstellar conquest and control. Players can choose a Power, help guide their strategy, and take on special objectives to advance their shared cause. Player choices and actions have a direct and visible impact on the balance of galactic power.

◘ 7 September – Reports that the Federal–Imperial cold war could soon end have resulted in jubilation in many parts of the galaxy. While the impact of the conflict has been relatively modest, many thousands of galactic citizens have nevertheless been disrupted. But as talk of a truce gains ground, anonymous sources have reported that influential Imperials have questioned the wisdom of withdrawing from the Pleiades.
Daxton Sung of the Imperial Herald said:
“Can the Federation be trusted? That’s the question the Empire is asking. Assuming both sides agree to withdraw, the Empire is worried that the Federation will renege on the deal. But such heel-dragging is to be expected. The fact is that there’s a real desire, on both sides of the fence, to end this ridiculous conflict.”
◘ 8 September – In October last year, the Federation was criticised for positioning a Farragut-class Battlecruiser above Maia A 3 a, not far from the personal research base of Professor Ishmael Palin.
The deployment, which came only days after Professor Palin announced a breakthrough in his research into meta-alloys, was widely interpreted as an attempt to restrict Palin’s movement and curtail his research. The condemnation of rival political powers and the efforts of a number of political campaigners did little to affect the blockade. But recent reports from Maia indicate that the Federal ships have now withdrawn, effectively ending the cordon of Maia A 3 a. Rici Stewart, writing for The Imperial Herald, offering the following evaluation:
“The Federation knows that blockading Professor Palin was – at best – unethical, so I’m not surprised they chose not to comment on their withdrawal. They just slipped away in the night. As with their efforts to control meta-alloys, the Federation’s attempts to restrict access to Palin’s base were far from successful. I guess the Federation has realised it can’t control the galaxy. If you ask me, this is another sign that the Federal-Imperial cold war could be coming to an end.”
Naturally, Professor Palin was pleased with the development:
“We may never know exactly why the Federation blockaded Maia A 3 a. Frankly the galaxy’s superpowers have always been rather incomprehensible to me. All I can say is: I’m glad they’re gone.”
◘ 8 September – The Kamadhenu Chapterhouse of Inquisition’s ongoing infrastructure project has now entered its final phase. The aim of the project is to establish a series of starports along the route to Colonia to make the 20,000 light-year voyage less daunting.

I’ve spent a few hours sorting through the mountain of community media since the launch of Elite: Dangerous this week, and I thought a Top would be a tough, but very interesting thing to do. I sorted 809 images, then painfully decreased to 18… and finally, the Top 4! Congratulations to all creators <3
Divergents – Loneliness
Nuse – Small Worlds Expedition 2
The original map has been created by Modishnouns and represents all the paths from our explorers since the game launched. We have explored for the moment 0.003% of the Galaxy Milky Way, there is still work to do haha! I edited the image in order to add the well known locations, the locked regions and the possible unknown civilizations. Check out the 10000×10000 version.
